The next weekly patch for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be coming soon, with the week 18 patch set to go live at some point today on the test servers and for everyone else tomorrow. While it isn’t one of the biggest patches that the game has received, it nevertheless brings some notable fixes to the game.
The following are the complete patch notes for the week 18 update:
- Fixed a bug where characters got stuck in doors after partially destroying them
- Fixed a bug causing the door Interaction UI to appear even after doors were completely destroyed
- You can now use consumables while browsing the inventory during a reload
- Fixed a bug where characters could not pick up items while running despite seeing the looting animation
- Fixed a bug where characters would shake in spectator mode while running
It was also revealed that the game’s July update will not be releasing in July at all, with the developer needing to delay it in order to get it polished. This was the result of a client crash bug that happened last week, and now the July patch is set to launch on August 3rd. That one is set to be a big one, with first-person-only servers, an FOV slider and a new rifle set to be added to the game. The new weapon hasn’t bee detailed yet, but we’ll likely be hearing more about that soon.
The game will also be getting its first three cosmetic crates along with the monthly update, which are purchasable using the in-game BP currency. The release of these crates is being used as a test period, so adjustments to the system going forward are likely to happen.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available on PC in early access form, with a full release expected to happen later this year. An Xbox One version is also expected to launch by the end of this year, with a PlayStation 4 release coming in 2018.
