Killing Floor 2 originally launched for PlayStation 4 and PC at the end of last year, and it was a fantastic horde shooter that made a lot of improvements over the original game. While that experience was exclusive to players on those platforms for a while, today it has been revealed that Xbox One players will be able to get in on the action soon.
Developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive has announced that the game will be coming to Xbox One on August 29th, bringing with it all of the great content that is currently available in the previous versions of the game. However, Xbox One gamers will be able to gloat a little bit, because there will also be some content coming exclusively to that platform. This includes the likes of the weapon called Freezethrower, as well as the Wasteland Armor Uniform.
Those who plan on getting an Xbox One X later this year will be happy to know that a version for that console is also in the works, and will take full advantage of what it has to offer. Things like 4K support, high-resolution textures and expanded draw distance are some of the benefits players will enjoy when playing on Xbox One X. That version of the game will launch when the actual console does, which is November 7th, 2017. The game will cost $39.99.
For those of you who haven’t played the game yet, Killing Floor 2 is definitely a game worth checking out for fans of horde-based shooters. You and a group of friends (or not) are tasked with taking on waves of enemies that culminates in a boss battle, while you gradually purchase and improve your arsenal in between each round. It sounds basic enough on the surface, but the developers have polished the formula to the point where it is truly at the top of the heap in this genre.
