The Fable series will be getting a Collectible Card Game in the future that is called Fable Fortune, which was set to launch into early access very soon. However, development of the game has hit a bump in the road, which has led the developers to announce that the early access launch has been delayed slightly.
The announcement was made on the game’s official blog, with the developer saying that “Due to an unexpected administration hiccup we are unfortunately unable to launch the Xbox One version of Fable Fortune next week and we’ve made the decision to move the launch date back to July 25th on all platforms. This is to make sure Fable Fortune releases on PC and Xbox simultaneously, so we can make the most of cross-play between the platforms. Sadly this is an unavoidable slip, however the PC beta is still rolling and we will be giving away more keys over the next few weeks.”
While it’s a bummer whenever you hear about a delay, luckily this one is relatively minor when compared to some other games out there. Those of you who have been playing the game through its closed beta will still be able to continue playing, and so far it has been a big success.
Fans of the Fable series will remember all too well when Microsoft shut down the Fable series and developer Lionhead Studios last year, putting an end to the series that fans have loved for over a decade. However, fans will be happy to know that Fable Fortune is being developed by many of the same people from Lionhead Studios, who now go by the name of Flaming Fowl. It may not be another main Fable entry like fans would have liked, but hopefully it turns out well.
Fable Fortune will launch into early access on PC and Xbox One on July 25th.
