Microsoft has revealed the free games that Xbox Live Gold members can download during the month of July, offering the usual two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games. This isn’t one of the best lineups we’ve ever gotten, but there are some games that are at least worth checking out.
For Xbox One we have Grow Up and Runbow, with the former being available from July 1st to July 31st and the latter being available from July 16th to August 15th. Grow Up is the sequel to 2015’s Grow Home, which received solid reviews at release. Runbow is a platform racing game that launched in 2015, and also received solid reviews.
On the Xbox 360 side of things we have Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game, with the former being available from July 1st to July 15th and the latter being available from July 16th to July 31st. Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days launched in 2010, though it received pretty mixed reviews. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean launched in 2011, and it received mostly positive reviews. Both games are backwards compatible, meaning that you will be able to play them on Xbox One.
A trailer was also released that highlights the games in the lineup, which claims that these games would cost $59 in total and come with over 4,000 points in gamerscore. You can check out the trailer at the bottom of this post.
Out of all the games in this lineup, I’m the most interested in the Xbox One games. Grow Home was a solid game and I missed out on the sequel originally, and Runbow is a really unique game that I always meant to try out. The Xbox 360 games aren’t too shabby, but I definitely won’t be booting either of those games up any time soon.
