Final Fantasy 15 has just received a big new update, and it is perhaps one of the most anticipated ones that the game has received since its launch last year. This update adds the Regalia Type-D to the game, which allows the players to transform the Regalia into a vehicle that can finally be taken off the main roads.
This gets added to the game via the free 1.12 update, which comes in at 8.65GB on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is pretty meaty for an update, so be sure that you have some free space before you get to downloading. Some footage of the Regalia Type-D in action was also uploaded recently, which you can check out below. It definitely makes travel less restrictive, though it remains to be seen if it makes chocobos obsolete.
The following are the patch notes for update 1.12:
- Implementation of Regalia Type-D off-road customization option (available at Hammerhead)
- Conclusion of survey regarding future updates
- Addition of compatibility with Episode Prompto
- Addition of pieces from Episode Prompto to music player tracklist
- Various bug fixes
While this is certainly a big update that fans of the game will appreciate getting, this isn’t the only content that will be coming to the game this week. Tomorrow marks the launch of the Episode Prompto DLC, which is the second story DLC that the game has received so far. This one puts you in control of Prompto, who serves as the comic relief for the cast in the main game. That will cost $4.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
There’s plenty of more content in the works for Final Fantasy 15, with an additional story DLC with Episode Ignis and multiplayer DLC with Comrades all being in the works. Square Enix has also been doing fan surveys to see what other content fans would like to see added to the game, so it seems like the game will be getting plenty of content for the foreseeable future.
