Sony wasted no time kicking their E3 2017 press conference into gear, as it all started with a story trailer for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The standalone DLC for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End got over 2 minutes of fantastic new footage for everyone to check out, and you can see it for yourself at the bottom of this post.
The trailer itself gives a brief breakdown of the game’s plot, which has Chloe and Nadine on a big treasure hunt. Judging from the trailer, the two aforementioned characters don’t seem to have the most smooth of friendships, with one clip even showing Nadine punching Chloe in the face. It will be interesting to see where this DLC takes these two characters, and whether or not they can lead a story as well as Nathan Drake and Sully. I doubt it, but I’ll give ’em a chance.
As for everything else in the trailer, it all looks a lot like what you would expect from an Uncharted game. While that’s not a bad thing, hopefully they add enough twists to the formula so that it doesn’t get stale quickly. The fact that this is DLC rather than a full-blown game also has me interested, as it obviously isn’t going to be as big of an adventure as Uncharted 4. Even still, Naughty Dog has claimed that The Lost Legacy has the biggest area out of any of the games in the series, so it’s definitely going to be more than just your average DLC. It’s being coined as something more along the lines of what Naughty Dog delivered with the The Last of Us’ Left Behind DLC, and if it can meet that quality then we’re in for something special.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to launch exclusively for PlayStation 4 on August 22nd. Be sure to check out the new story trailer for the game below.
