If you happen to be a FIFA fan and are also an Xbox Gold subscriber, then we have some good news for you to take note of for the weekend. Microsoft has announced that FIFA 17 will be entirely free-to-play this weekend for members of Xbox Gold, with the free period starting today and coming to an end on Monday at 11:59 PM PST.
Players will have access to the entire game during this free period, with no restrictions being placed on the game whatsoever. To make matters even better, if you play the game and decide that you want to purchase the game, then you’ll be able to grab it for 50% off during the weekend. All of the progress that you made during the free-to-play period will carry over to your purchase, ensuring that you can pick up right where you left off.
That’s not where the deals end for FIFA 17, as the Deluxe Edition is also available for 50% off and the Super Deluxe Edition is 30% off. These versions of the game come with 3,000 and 8,000 FIFA 17 Points Packs, respectively. You can check out this deal through the Xbox Store by clicking right here.
The next installment in the FIFA series is set to launch later this year, with FIFA 18 coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this Fall. It will also be coming to the Switch, but under the name EA Sports FIFA. The game will continue the story mode featured in FIFA 17 called “The Journey,” but will include new characters and a brand new story this time. The goal for the development team is to deliver an experience that is more innovative and also more seamless with the Ultimate Team mode.
It also looks like PlayStation 4 gamers will now be getting exclusive content instead of Xbox One gamers, with images surfacing recently from an event that featured the PlayStation logo prominently with the game. This wouldn’t be the first time that a company dumped Xbox for PlayStation when it comes to exclusivity deals, with the same thing happening with the Call of Duty series.
