Ark: Survival Evolved has been getting plenty of updates lately, with the v257 update being the biggest of recent memory. That update brought several tweaks to the game, the biggest being one to the game’s volcano. While the volcano used to be inactive, it is now active and poses a major threat to anyone that is in the general area of of it.
The latest update (v257.58) that the game received is on a much smaller level, as it really only makes one minor tweak to the game. This one fixes an issue with turrets auto-targeting, which requires a server update to go into effect. This update follows the v257.42 update, which brought the following changes to the game:
– Fixed “Downloading” alternate Survivors behavior when travelling Cross-ARK
– Engram Prerequisites now unlock properly
– Fixed some small possibility of client crashes when unloading streaming levels
– Queen Bees no longer die if you deal too much damage to smashing hives, nor do they lose affinity when taking damage.
– Improved TrueSky and non-TrueSky lighting on TheCenter
The most important update that came to the game recently is the v257.4 update, with developers recommending that users upgrade to this version as soon as possible. The following is everything that that update changed in the game:
– Server-side: Fixed incorrect collision on TheCenter, and various other misc map issues.
– Server-side: Fixed Tek Engrams not being learned when defeating Bosses.
– Server-side: Fixed destroying wild beehives reporting into Tribe Log.
– Client-side: Improved Underwater TheCenter lighting
– Client-side: Fixed gamepad input not working properly
– Client-side: Fixed not being able to enter numbers on certain text boxes
– Client-side: Fixed Escape not properly closing Inventory Menu after confirmation dialog
– Client-side: Fixed Drop Torches freaking out on clients
– You can no longer upload Bee Hive items, but now you can upload Queen Bees
Ark: Survival Evolved is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in its early access form, with a full release expected to take place on all the aforementioned platforms later this year.
