We learned recently that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 would be getting new DLC that is focused entirely on the zombies mode, bringing back maps from World at War, Black Ops and Black Ops 2. However, at the time we weren’t given an idea of how much this content would actually cost, but today that news has been revealed.
Activision has announced that the Zombies Chronicles DLC will cost players on all platforms $30, though international pricing has not yet been detailed. This is a pretty big jump up when compared to the cost of traditional DLC for the series, as it typically costs $15. However, this is likely due to the fact that gamers are getting much more content here than normal, with 8 remastered maps being included.
Players will also be able to get some bonus content when purchasing the content, which is the following:
- An exclusive Pack-A-Punch weapon camo
- Twenty vials of Liquid Divinium, a type of powerup and in-game currency
- Two “all-new Whimsical GobbleGums.” GobbleGums are a form of persistent upgrade within Black Ops III’s Zombies mode.
Those who pre-order the DLC on PlayStation 4 will also receive a dynamic zombie theme. Also, players on all platforms will be able to earn double XP and earn various in-game rewards in zombies mode for 8 days starting on May 16th.
Zombies Chronicles will only be available for PlayStation 4 on May 16th, with its release on Xbox One and PC coming later. While Activision hasn’t announced when the content will be coming to those platforms, they typically arrive somewhere around a month after the PlayStation 4 launch.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launched back in 2015, but due to that game’s positive reception and the negative reception of 2016’s Infinite Warfare, many people are still playing it. The next entry will be taking the series back to its roots, with Call of Duty: WWII set to launch this November.
