Overwatch has had some technical issues that Blizzard has had to sort out with some patches, but a recent one actually resulted in them having to disable one of the game’s heroes. The hero in question was D.Va, who had been removed from the game in all regions due to a bug that was spotted by the developer. D.Va players around the world were upset, but they can breathe easily again knowing she’s back in the game.
She was ultimately only taken offline for a few hours, which was a result of the developer needing to isolate the problem so they could deal with it more quickly. While we still haven’t gotten any specific details regarding what the problem actually was, it’s likely something that popped up due to a recent update. Regardless, she’s back in the game and there are no issues being reported by users at this time. The announcement was made by Blizzard through their Twitter account.
It was recently revealed that there are a handful of maps that are currently in development for the game, with 6 of them being worked on in total. This was revealed by the game’s director, Jeff Kaplan, who claimed that 3 of these maps have the potential to launch by the end of this year. The other 3 are still in the early stages of development, and will not be coming to the game’s Quick Play or Competitive Play modes. The game’s director also teased “a few other experiments” that they’re currently working, without giving any other details.
Overwatch is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game is still in the midst up its Uprising event, which is entirely themed around a past event in the game’s history that shaped the characters we know today. It adds a new co-op brawl mode, as well as plenty of new skins for players to unlock. The event kicked off on April 11th, though it will come to an end next week on May 2nd.
