Resident Evil 7: Biohazard launched at the beginning of this year, and was a welcomed return to form for the previously-ailing series. The game ditched the action-heavy elements of the recent games and went back to the series’ roots, and it was a move that fans and critics have loved. The game was also set to be getting free DLC this Spring, though it looks like that will no longer be the case.
A new video has been released on the official Resident Evil YouTube channel, which is called the ‘Not a Hero’ Dev Team Message. It basically says that they have decided to delay the DLC to ensure that it lives up to the standards of the main game, which was fantastic. A new release window for the game has not yet been announced, but hopefully it’s sooner rather than later. You can check out the video message at the bottom of this post.
I won’t get into spoilers here, but the aforementioned DLC is teased upon completing the main game. There’s a pretty surprising reveal at the very end of the game, which has many fans of the edge of their seats to see what’s behind it all. The wait until Spring has already been torture enough, but now fans are going to have to wait even longer.
There has already been some DLC released for the game, which launched shortly after the base game did. Banned Footage Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are both available now, and include a variety of new content for fans to check out. However, these both come with a price tag, with the first one costing $9.99 and the second one costs $14.99. You can get more details on these pieces of DLC by clicking right here.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game was notable for shifting the series to a first-person perspective, as well as bringing back the long-missed survival horror gameplay.
