We learned recently that PlatinumGames’ NieR: Automata would be getting some DLC early next month, but only the Japanese release date was confirmed at the time. However, the publisher Square Enix has confirmed today that the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC will arrive in the west on May 2nd, which is the same day as the Japanese release date.
3C3C1D119440927 certainly is a strange title for DLC (or anything, for that matter), but it will be bringing some substantial new content to the main game. This includes the likes of three new colosseums to take on, as well as some new sub-quests. Completing the sub-quests come with some worthwhile rewards, which are detailed below.
NieR: Automata 3C3C1D119440927 DLC Unlockables
- Costumes from the previous Japanese release, NieR: Replicant, for androids 2B, 9S and A2
- Records that add special music tracks to the players’ jukebox
- New equipment and cosmetic accessories such as hairspray that allows you to change the color of 2B and A2’s hair
- Masks with unique “on equip” effects
- Special bullets that change the appearance of enemy bullets
For those who have never played the game, NieR: Automata is set in a post-apocalyptic world where robots have essentially wiped out humanity. Those who managed to survive were forced to flee to the Moon, with the last remnants of humanity just barely managing to hold on. Not willing to give up on their home planet, the humans send down androids to battle the robots in a last ditch effort to try and reclaim their home.
NieR: Automata launched for PlayStation 4 and PC last month, receiving critical acclaim for its combat, storyline and visuals. Despite being a game that can be experienced perfectly fine on its own, it is actually a loose sequel to 2010’s NieR. However, Automata improves upon that game’s formula in every possible way, which was made possible with the help of PlatinumGames.
