Fans of Bungie title Destiny 2 may get the same expansion treatment from its predecessor. A “fact sheet” leak points towards 2017 and 2018 release windows. Popular retailer GameStop has apparently released fact sheets on the game to branches all across North America. The first downloadable content (DLC) drop will occur in “Winter 2017.” The second expansion will arrive in “Spring 2018.” Bungie has not made any confirmations about the supposed GameStop “release schedule.”
Players can also watch the full “leak” from YouTuber MoreConsole. However, if this is true, then it appears the publisher will follow a similar pattern to the DLCs of its first game. For a refresher, the Destiny title got a release for current-generation platforms for its time in September 2014. It released its first expansion The Dark Below on December 9, 2014. Afterwards, the House of Wolves expansion landed in the game on May 19, 2015. Moreover, players at the time can get both Destiny DLCs for a single purchase via the title’s Expansion Pass. Interestingly, Destiny 2 followed this trend, as its Expansion Pass contains both DLCs. Bungie has not revealed if there will be more expansions for the sequel in the next few years.
Destiny 2 Leak: Competitive Multiplayer
The Destiny 2 publisher has not revealed any information about the content of the two Expansions. Players only know that similar to other games, the updates will drop new “story missions, and cooperative activities.” Interestingly, the description also said “competitive multiplayer” will be made available in one of the patches. This implies that while cooperative multiplayer may be in the game, but players cannot participate in “competitive multiplayer” in the base title. It seems a feature similar to player-versus-player (PvP) may only be available in an update.
Players can buy both of the Destiny 2 unnamed expansions through the game’s Expansion Pass. However, gamers still have the option of purchasing them separately for US$40. The updates are also available in the title’s numerous editions, such as its Collector’s, Limited, Digital Deluxe, and Game + Expansion Pass Editions. MoreConsole’s video reveals that it may be a good option to pre-order the game as it makes the Beta accessible before it becomes open to the public. Players may also purchase a limited edition Cayde-6 figurine from GameStop retailers.
Not much is known about Destiny 2 save for its September 8, 2017 release. It appears the game retains character personalization traits of all Destiny characters who have reached Level 20 and finished the Black Garden mission. The game may also award “veteran” players from the previous game. Players may also be glad to know that the sequel will be a standalone title.
