A short while ago today, 2K Games tweeted a teasing Bioshock-related message. Now, an official 2K Games website has popped up, unveiling the long-rumoured Bioshock: The Collection.

The last couple of months have had several retailer-related leaks that have listed Bioshock: The Collection and a couple of ratings boards in different countries have posted listings for the same title. This news hardly comes as much of a surprise, then, but that by no means diminishes the excitement. After the teasing tweet from earlier today, it seemed inevitable an announcement would soon follow. Lo and behold, this gorgeous image has been found posted to 2K’s server:
Technically, the game has not officially been announced, as these images surface after a little digging; no doubt 2K will announce either later today or tomorrow. It has been three years since the series ended with the masterful Bioshock: Infinite in 2013, and with Irrational Games effectively closing down in February of 2014, the hope of seeing a new Bioshock game died in the hearts of fans. Hopefully, having all three wonderful games back on our (now considerably higher resolution) screens, and hopefully running at a cool 60FPS, will go some way toward alleviating out heartache.
When it comes to an official announcement, we will let you know as soon as possible…2K Games, would you kindly hurry it along?
