The first official trailer for season 2 of DC Universe’s Harley Quinn is here, and it offers a glimpse at several new characters while promising even more NSFW shenanigans. Harley Quinn arrived on the DC streaming service at the end of last year and ran through February. On the exact same day as the season 1 finale, DC Universe announced Harley Quinn season 2 was already on the way, with the show set to return on April 3. Harley Quinn stars Kaley Cuoco as as the titular character and includes the vocal talents of performers such as Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, Tony Hale, and Jason Alexander.
The first season of Harley Quinn followed Harley as she sought to establish herself as a formidable villain without the Joker (Tudyk). With the aid of Poison Ivy (Bell) and a team of allies, Harley was able to do just that, but by the end of the season, much of Gotham City had been reduced to rubble. Season 2 looks to pick up in the aftermath of that as Harley rebuilds her life.

Today, DC Universe shared the first official trailer for Harley Quinn season 2. Despite only being one minute long, there are lots of story teases and character appearances crammed in. For example, previously announced characters Mr. Freeze (Alfred Molina) and Catwoman (Sanaa Lathan) get their first appearances here, as well as Batgirl. You can see the trailer, plus some new art, below:
As Harley continues her journey toward becoming “the world’s most feared supervillain,” it looks like she’s going to run into some obstacles. Namely, the remaining villains of Gotham ousting her. With Mr. Freeze, Riddler (Jim Rash), Bane (James Adomian), Two Face (Andrew Daly), and the Penguin (Wayne Knight) divvying up the “new New Gotham,” Harley’s going to have to fight for her share of the city. The guys certainly don’t seem to be giving her a lot of space on their map.
Additionally, a fleeting moment in the trailer suggests the romance fans are hoping for between Harley and Poison Ivy could be on the way. Harley and Ivy are seen locking fingers at one point, no doubt igniting fan excitement in the process. Harley Quinn showrunner Justin Halpern previously insisted the show would bring the comics relationship between Harley and Ivy to life, but that some necessary character development needs to happen first. The trailer does show a glimpse of Ivy’s season 1 boyfriend Kite Man (Matt Oberg), so any romance between the two ladies might still be a ways off. Regardless, fans only have to wait a few more weeks before Harley Quinn season 2 arrives on DC Universe.
