Game of Thrones fans have something extra to eagerly await for. According to the latest reports, the final episodes will all be as long as movies are. Even the Season 7 finale of Game of Thrones will last for 82 minutes, which will make it the longest episode of the show yet. The information comes from David Chen, co-host of the “Cast of Kings” fan podcast. Unfortunately, the season will have fewer episodes, so the fact that they will be longer doesn’t really mean we will actually get to see our favorite characters more.
The super- lengthy episodes will only come with season 8, however. Season 7 will consist of normal, hour- long episodes. Unfortunately, there will only be six episodes in the upcoming season, which will premiere on July 16. Season 8, which will also be the final one, will consist of six episodes. Thankfully, these will be the longer ones. It’s not clear yet whether Season 8 will arrive next year or in 2019. Hopefully, it will come sooner than later. One thing is sure, no matter how long the episodes will be, they could always be longer. True Game of Thrones fans will never get bored with this show, no matter how long an episode will last.
Of course, there could also be more episodes, even if shorter ones. That way, the excitement would last longer than six weeks. Either way, the final season of Game of Thrones will last for about eight or nine hours in total. While this probably won’t be enough for the fans, it gives the production the necessary time to nicely wrap up the story and tie all loose ends. We already knew that the final season will only have six episodes, so the news regarding their length is actually a good one. We basically get more content than we would have hoped for.
