The Assassin’s Creed series is set to be taking the plunge into mobile-only territory with the release of Assassin’s Creed Identity, which is set to launch later this month on iOS. While we had previously gotten a cinematic trailer to set to the stage for the game, Ubisoft has now released a new video that shows off gameplay while also giving us some answers on what the game is all about. For those who are worrying that the game might lose something from consoles to mobile fear not, as the game looks like it is very similar to how the main games in the series play out.
In the new video for Assassin’s Creed Identity we get to see the game’s creative director Reynald Francois talk about the game, who reveals that they were aiming to make the game better for the brief bursts of gameplay that mobile users are used to. However, even though things will be streamlined a bit doesn’t mean that the game is going to lack anything that fans would come to expect, as all of the building scaling, crazy parkour and hay diving is still front and center.
As for what this game is actually about, here’s the official synopsis from Ubisoft: “This action-RPG assigns players the task of solving The Mystery of the Crows through a series of story missions and quests. To complete their mission, players will have to navigate through various cities of the Italian Renaissance – and some of their most famous landmarks – with a variety of control options, including touch-to-move, dual virtual sticks, or with a gamepad.”
Assassin’s Creed Identity is set to launch for iOS on February 25, with the game running on iOS 7 that is compatible with iPhone 5 and newer models and the iPad 3 and newer models. There’s no news regarding whether or not the game will ever make its way to Android devices.
