Capcom’s Umbrella Corps, the latest Resident Evil spin-off, is heading to Steam this month.
This competitive multiplayer, third-person shooter pits players against one another with zombies—the series’ staple—thrown into the bloody mix. Umbrella Corps is now available for pre-purchase on Steam in both standard and deluxe editions, ahead of its official release on June 21. PlayStation 4 owners will also be able to dip their toes into the gore-infested waters on the same date. In addition to the publication date, Capcom has also released a new trailer, which discloses some familiar locations and additional game features.
Fans of the long-running franchise will instantly recognize Raccoon City from the trailer, and, most prominently, the ruined metropolis’ police station in which protagonist Leon Kennedy finds himself during the events of Resident Evil 2.
All of the classic areas appear to be intact, including the precinct’s upper levels. The trailer shows some new customization abilities too, letting players change their avatar’s color layout in various, vibrant schemes—if you pre-order.
Fans have been criticizing Capcom for driving its survival horror games in a more action-orientated direction. Despite being a spinoff, Umbrella Corps has had little luck quelling said outrage. Are you excited to return to Raccoon City?
