As many of you will know well, online shooters are often infested with nasty cheaters who usually end up ruining the game. Blizzard recently released an announcement regarding the fate of cheaters in Overwatch.
Blizzard’s solution to get rid of those using third-party tools in order to gain an advantage over others is rather simple. If you are caught using hacks, cheats or anything similar, you will receive a permanent ban from Overwatch which is a logical decision and since it is a B2P online shooter, players will think twice before attempting to dissappoint Blizzard.
The official statement further explains that Blizzard will continously monitor suspicous behaviour but will probably not publicly announce when accounts are being banned.
“These assertions aren’t new or groundbreaking for Blizzard, but they’re important and serve as a reminder of our commitment to delivering epic gameplay experiences.”
Blizzard’s approach towards cheaters is quite pleasing and hopefully their methods of monitoring will be efficient in spotting those nasty cheaters. Overwatch seems like a truly promising online shooter and we really don’t want to see cheaters ruining the game. The official launch is just a few days away and players all over the world must be extremely excited to finally get their hands on the game. If you are planning to cheat or hack in Overwatch, you are wasting a good deal of money, as hopefully the monitoring system will do its job. You can find the official announcement here.
