Team Allegiance, formally “Allegiance eSports” where founded in 2015 the same year that they joined the competitive Halo Scene. They began by entering the North American Online qualifiers where they placed 1st in two of the 5 competitions, overall emerging with the #1 seed. After more success in the Aspen XGames and the NA regional Finals Team Allegiance earned 2nd place in the Halo World Championship taking home $500,000. Allegiance had earned a spot in the Summer Qualifiers with a chance of entering the coveted Halo Pro League and yet what happened next was very unexpected. The four team members that had earned them so much success in so little time:
Visal “eL TowN” Mohanan| Carlos “Cratos” Ayala|Brett “Naded” Leonard |Ayden “Suspector” Hill
all left the team for one reason or another to join four different teams currently in the Pro League. This left Allegiance with a tournament to play and no team to play it. They quickly assembled a new roster and placed 1st in the qualifiers, granting them entry to the HCS Pro League. But who are these band of mercenaries?
First off the captain Ryan “Ryanoob” Geddes. Gamertag: RyaNoob Nerds. Age: 22
Ryanoob is an under rated gem of the Pro League, throughout his career he has played alongside some of the game’s best players such as Walshey, Lethul and Snipedown. He has played for a number of teams over the years and never really settled down, he seemed to be content at “Winterfox” in 2015 but as they failed to qualify for the Pro League the allure of “Team Allegiance” proved too strong.
Secondly we have Devon “Pred” Layton. Gamertag: PreDevoNatoR. Age: 22
Pred has been in the circuit since 2011 working his way through the lower ranks. He found his most successful partner in current team mate Contra and has enjoyed moderate success with him over the last few years. Achieving great things with “Denial eSports” in 2016. Pred followed Contra to “Team Allegiance” in time for the HCS Pro League, this could be their time to shine.
The third member of the team is Faisal “Goofy” Khan. Gamertag: Goofy. Age: 22
Goofy began his competitive halo career back in 2009 with Halo 3. Since 2012 he has not placed outside the top 4 in any competition, until 2016 when “Team eLevate” failed to leave a tough group in the regional finals. Ultimately leading to their exclusion from the Pro League and Goofys move to Allegiance.
To round off the team we have Cody “Contra” Szczodrowski. Gamertag: ContrV. Age: 22
Contra has played for a number of teams over the years and often under different pseudonyms, making it hard to keep track of his progress. Contra frequently teams up with current team mate Pred, in late 2015 they founded “Disobey” and recruited bubu dubu and Huke, now of “Enigma6”.The full roster was picked up by “Denial eSports” who then finished second in Regionals before the team broke up and Contra found himself at “Team Allegiance”.
Team Allegiance have not got off to the strongest start in the Pro league and for obvious reasons. Their qualifying win shows they clearly have the ability but it will be interesting to see if they can form a strong enough team bond to start picking up results in time to avoid relegation. Check them out on Thursday and Friday at 5pm (PT) or head over to Halo.gg.
Happy Gaming.
