Blizzard finally opened a Public Test Region in which the next Overwatch patch is now playable before its official worldwide release. The big news of the patch is the competitive play system: people from level 25 upwards will have to go through 10 placement matches, after which they will be assigned a matchmaking ranking. The skill rating will make matchmaking more balanced and it will lead to the creation of leaderboards and it is the first step in the creation of the Overwatch competitive scene. There are also going to be more punitive penalties for the ones who leave a ranked match underway to guarantee a more serious experience.
