If you are sick of playing as the same default player Minecraft has set you with, then you will absolutely love the fact that we have decided to provide you with a detailed step-by-step instruction on how you can change your name up in the game! Spicing things up has never been easy, so there is absolutely no reason for you to moan that Minecraft is a boring game! We are here to teach you how you can change your player name, and give you some extra tips on how you can step up your game.
And if you want to download some Minecraft skins for free, then you should visit www.skins4minecraft.com! We have loads of options available for you, so do have a browse!
Before we go into the actual instruction part of this post, we should let you know that changing your name in Minecraft is only possible if you play in the editions that do not require you to use an Xbox Live. Plus, if your account was created within the last 30 days or if you have a tendency to switch it more than every 30 days, you also cannot change your player name. Please note that taking someone else’s name is also not allowed in Minecraft.
Now that all that is clear to you, we can proceed to the actual step-by-step!
To start with, the thing you have to do first is to go to https://www.mojang.com/. That website is responsible for performing all the Minecraft manipulations that might come into your head. As soon as you find yourself there, you should click the ‘Account’ button, which is you can find on the upper-right side of the web page. Then find the ‘log in’ button, which is also situated on the upper-right side of the page. If you are already logged in to your account, you can proceed to complete the next steps.
There are some labeled fields on the ‘Log In’ page where you should enter your profile information. Those would be your email address and password, if you are not sure. Once you have done that, click the green-colored ‘Log In’ button, which is near the bottom of the webpage.
After you have logged in, the thing you need to do is to find the section that is labeled ‘Profile Name’. It is sitting there right in the middle of the page. Find the ‘Change’ button and then hit it. That button will link you to your current username. There you will have the ability to enter a completely new profile name. Look at the top of the page – there you should find a text field. Type in the desired username you want to be using in the near future.
Note: the username you want to use might be already taken by some other player. If you want to make sure that it is not, then you should check if your variant is available to you. That can be done by clicking the ‘check availability’ button. It is a grey-colored button that sits to the right of the ‘Profile Name’ text field. If everything is tip-top with what you have chosen to, then a green message should pop up with the “username is available” written on your computer screen. Yet if it is not possible for you to take that nickname, then a red-colored message will appear. But don’t be so sad and frustrated – you can play your options up and create something no one has thought of yet!
Once you are finished with all that, click the ‘Check Availability’ button once again and hope it would come out green.
If that worked, proceed to enter your password in the ‘Password’ field. You should type your password in the exact field you have previously used to log in to your Minecraft account.
Once you are done with all those steps, you can proceed to click ‘Change Name’ aaand you are done and dusted! You should now have a fabulous new player name that you can play with for as long as you would like to! Your new username will be available the very next time you decide to log in the game on your computer.
Please do not forget that you will not have the ability to change your player name for the next 30 days. Your previous one will be available to you for 37 days, and you will have a week for some intense thinking on whether you like your new change or not.
