The Google Pixel 2 and the Google Pixel XL 2 are two of the most awaited handsets of this year. Of course, we are eager to see the third Google device of 2017 also, but it’s not clear yet whether it will be a smartphone or a tablet, so we are going to focus our attention on the successors of the Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL. According to the latest news, the handsets will arrive with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor on board. We know this because WinFuture.de spotted the smartphones in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code. They seem to be closely connected to CPU model number MSM8998, which is the Snapdragon 835.
This tells us two things: the Google Pixel 2 and the Google Pixel XL 2 will live up to expectations in terms of power, and that they will arrive before Qualcomm releases a new flagship CPU. Google usually equips its handsets with top-tier hardware. At this point, we can say that the Snapdragon 835 is the best chipset on the market. It is present in the latest Samsung flagship smartphones and in other new releases also. If Qualcomm were to release a new, better chipset before the launch of the new Pixel devices, it would make sense for Google to use it instead of the current flagship.
This information seems to confirm that the big launch event will take place in the fall. Qualcomm launched its best chipsets in the second half of the year in the past two or three years. it’s safe to assume that this fall it will drop a new processor on us. This will probably happen after the launch of the Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel XL 2. None of the information regarding the Google Pixel 2 or its larger siblings was confirmed by the tech giant. However, the fact that it will come with the best processor available at the time of its launch is almost certain. Google always tries to deliver premium smartphones and it usually succeeds at this. The Google Pixel 2 and the Pixel XL 2 probably won’t disappoint either.
