Technology has come a really long way. Thanks to this field, we now have tons of devices and gadgets to make our lives easier. The medical field is also greatly influenced by technology. Doctors nowadays can perform surgeries they couldn’t even imagine doing a few decades back. Also, we have smaller gadgets that monitor our health and activity. Only think of the smart wearables. They monitor our heart rate, count our steps and even keep track of our sleep. Chaotic Moon’s Tech Tats promise to take things even further. One day, they could even replace our yearly physicals. One day, because at this point these super cool gadgets are not available for the general public.
Let’s start with the fact that these Tech Tats aren’t really tattoos. At least not in the traditional sense of the word. Users won’t have to endure a lot of pain to get them. They work more like washable tattoos, but they don’t only look cool, they also have functionality. The Tech Tats are wearable circuit boards that are able to monitor body temperature, stress levels, heart rate, and other vital signs. If Chaotic Moon manages to do everything it intends to do with this gadget, the Tech Tats will be able to collect the majority of medical information one’s doctor might need for a yearly physical. Only by wearing this cool circuit board on your skin.
The technology relies on conductive ink and a number of biometric sensors. These monitor the user’s vital signs and send the information to Chaotic Moon’s mobile app. This way, users can enjoy real-time monitoring. They can also send the collected information to their doctors in case they need to. Also, we should mention that the technology works over Bluetooth Low Energy.
Some might wonder why this wearable could be better than others. After all, other sensors could be included in smartwatches in order to collect more information regarding our health. Well, first of all, you can wear the Tech Tats almost anywhere on your body. It doesn’t have to be in a visible place and it’s easy to wash down. Also, Chaotic Moon is set to deliver the Tech Tats for a really affordable price. This way, users will be able to buy them in a pack, just like Band- Aids. You can’t really do this with smartwatches, can you?
The downside to this technology is that at this point it only exists on a prototype level. So it’s not available on the market. However, it’s safe to assume that this will change sometime. We just don’t know when. Chaotic Moon’s Tech Tats prototypes first surfaced in 2015. Ever since then, the company continued perfecting them. Unfortunately, they didn’t manage to deliver what they consider to be the perfect gadget just yet. The fact that the tech tats have recently surfaced could indicate that the launch date approaches.
Even though we only referred to the Tech Tats as possible medical accessories, they can do a lot more. The possibilities are almost endless. These circuit boards can also become useful for banking and other financial purposes too.
