Even though all everyone is talking about lately are the amazing Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, let’s not forget about the LG G6 either. The LG flagship was available in South Korea for a few weeks now. Today, its global rollout finally starts. Naturally, it won’t become instantly available everywhere at the same time. According to the company, the LG G6 will become available in “key countries in North America, Asia, Europe, Central and South America over the course of the next several weeks.” Even though this information doesn’t contain a fixed launch date for each and every country, we can say that the LG flagship is coming soon. In the US, the LG G6 will become available starting Friday, April 7. According to the manufacturing company, more than 200 carriers and operators will offer this handset worldwide.
According to the manufacturing company, more than 200 carriers and operators will offer this handset worldwide. The LG G6 is the first flagship device to have landed this year. Even though previous models didn’t impress, LG managed to pull off a pleasant surprise with the device. The LG G6 features a 5.7-inch Full Vision display that offers both Dolby Vision and HDR 10 support. Even though it features a 5.7-inch screen, the LG G6 is rather compact. This is due to the slimmer bezels it now has. They are not as slim as those of some other high-end handsets, but they are slimmer than anything we’ve seen before coming from LG. This is a step forward.
The LG flagship may not sport the latest processor available on the market, but it does have the second best chipset, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. This is paired with an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. Again, these aren’t the best features on the market. However, people should keep in mind that the price tag of the LG G6 is not as high as that of the Samsung Galaxy S8 either. Even though it gets pretty close. Customers can opt for one of the two storage options: 32GB or 64GB. Both versions support additional storage of up to 256GB.
Of course, one of the main features of the LG G6 is its 13MP dual rear camera setup which is said to deliver exceptional images and capture awesome videos. The wide-angle front-facing camera is also a nice feature of the handset. What is somewhat disappointing is the 3,300mAh battery. Especially if we compare it to the 4,000mAh battery of the recently launched Huawei Honor 8 Pro. Even so, the battery should ensure enough juice for the device for a full day.
If you consider that the LG G6 is exactly what you’ve been waiting for, you can check out the listings at your local carriers and operators. You might just find the G6 available for purchase soon. Until then, you can still pre-order the device at select online stores.
