Blizzard’s Overwatch continues to be a massive success in gaming, with the hero shooter’s player base growing at a rapid pace ever since its launch a year ago. Despite the game being heavily multiplayer-focused, there has always been a large demand from the game’s fans for more about the characters and their stories.
While it isn’t exactly what fans have been asking for, the game will nevertheless be getting an art book later this year that will at least shed some light on the origins of the characters and how they were created. The book, simply called The Art of Overwatch, will be releasing this October. “Dark Horse is proud to partner with Blizzard to give fans an action-packed art book full of never-before-seen art and commentary,” reads the book’s official description.
There will be both standard and limited editions of this book, which will cost $50 and $100, respectively. As for what fans can expect to get from the limited edition, the description says “This deluxe limited edition comes packaged in a beautiful clamshell box with magnetic closure and includes an acetate slipcover featuring the game’s most popular hero, Tracer, as well as two portfolios containing a total of three prints chosen by the Overwatch team!”
It was recently revealed that Overwatch would be getting a game of the year edition to coincide with the release of its anniversary event, which will take place on May 23rd. The game of the year edition of the game will contain the following:
- The full game
- 10 Bonus Loot Boxes with cosmetic goodies for your Overwatch heroes.
