Ark: Survival Evolved has been receiving regular updates from developer Studio Wildcard since its early access release, as the game continues to inch closer and closer to its official launch. The game’s most recent update was a minor one that went live recently, which was released to fix a small problem with the game’s UI.
According to the very brief patch notes for the v256.43 update, the update “fixed a case where items were being highlighted despite not being able to be used (such as an incorrect saddle).” This follows a string of similarly minor updates that the game has been receiving lately. These updates have done things like correctly displaying the genders of a creature in its inventory and major UI rendering optimization. Underwater Bases Coming To Consoles Soon
Next week will see the release of the long-awaited v506 update on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which will bring a variety of new things to the game. However, the biggest thing that the update will be bringing to consoles is underwater bases, which adds an interesting new element to the game. Things like aquatic creature breeding have also been added, as well as TEK teleporters and wireless generators. Four new dinos will also be coming to the game with the patch, which are Equus, Leedsichthys, Ichthyornis and Iguanodon.
Ark: Survival Evolved got its start as an early access game in June of 2015 on PC, and the game instantly became a hit. The game then came to Xbox One at the end of 2015 for Xbox One, but didn’t come to PlayStation 4 until the end of last year. This was due to Sony’s stricter policies with unfinished games. The company originally denied the game being released on the PlayStation Store at all. The game is expected to launch in full at some point this year across all platforms. However, a release date for that has not yet been announced.
