Yesterday was a very big day for Overwatch fans, as it officially kicked off the game’s next seasonal event. This one was called Uprising, which takes players back to one of the key moments in the game’s history detailing the central conflict. It brings several new things to the table for fans, but it also brought some technical issues that the developer is trying to work out at the moment.
Developer Blizzard has not said exactly what this new update has broken, but it has led to them having to disable some notable features in the game. These include custom game saves, 3v3 elimination, 6v6 elimination, 6v6 capture the flag and leaderboards, so some pretty important aspects of the game are currently unavailable for players to utilize. Playing on a specific platform isn’t going to save you here, as it’s a problem that is apparently plaguing the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game.
The announcement was made through the official forums, with the developer saying they “don’t have an ETA for when the technical issues will be resolved and these features re-enabled, but will provide updates in this thread as they become available. Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience!” Hopefully these issues get resolved soon, but for now you can try out the content that is currently available thanks to the Uprising event instead.
As for what the Uprising event is all about, a strike team of Overwatch agents – including Tracer as a newcomer – is tasked with stopping an Omnic uprising in London. The content is set seven years prior to the main game, as the agents try and stop the uprising that is being led by a rogue group of omnics called Null Sector. Tracer, Torbjörn, Reinhardt and Mercy are the playable heroes here, as you control them in a PvE horde mode filled with various omnics to take down. Along with the new mode comes new loot boxes, highlights, cosmetic skins, emotes and sprays that are all themed after the event. You can check out a trailer showing some of this off below.
