Even though Samsung released a newer device from the Note family, we can say that those who own a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 still have the best handset from this line. Now, Sprint customers can say their Note 5 gets even better. The carrier will start rolling out the Android Nougat update to this device. Even though some would have expected it to reach the Samsung flagship earlier, Sprint is the first one to deliver the update in the US. The software update already reached Note 5s in other parts of the world.
The update’s software version number is N920PVPU3DQC5. It is quite a large update, so users should keep in mind they need at least 1.4 GB of free space in order to download and install it. Of course, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 users should proceed to install the update when they have access to a Wi-Fi connection instead of using their cellular data. Sprint customers won’t only get the new software these days. They will also receive the March 2017 Android security patches with the same download. Aside from these, Note 5 owners should also expect to discover the latest Samsung’s TouchWiz UX skin in the package. So, there are a lot of things to eagerly wait for.
Speaking of eagerly waiting, in case you just checked whether the software update is available on your device and it isn’t, don’t despair. The rollout will take several days to complete. Some Galaxy Note 5 users will get the update sooner than others. However, no Sprint customer will remain without the update. Those who use other carriers will have to wait a little longer. It’s safe to assume that they will get the software update soon too. Other major carriers will certainly roll out the new version in the next couple of weeks. People who own the unlocked version of the Samsung galaxy note 5 should also be expecting the update. Samsung should deliver it shortly.
