Batman fans haven’t had a good time of it lately, on the gaming front at least. With the Arkham Knight controversy after releasing an abysmal PC port that torn up framerate like a mulcher. Warner Bros. needs to restore some faith in their ability on the game development front as of late. Sadly, it was just announced that Batman: Return to Arkham would be delay indefinitely.
While we don’t know why the project was delayed, statements released on the Warner Bros. forums seemed to point towards a need for further development before release on the 29th of July. The statement reads as followed.
“After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience,” reads the post.
“We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready. We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.”
Despite the more recent disaster of the PC port that had them trying to damage control a wildfire of backlash with a garden hose. The Batman series stands to be pretty damn good games generally speaking. Fans are just hoping for a smooth launch to bring back those titles without another Iron Galaxies situation in the mix.
