If you find yourself in Ohio this month, make sure to check out the Greater Columbus Convention Center for 5 full days of gaming. The Origins Game Fair has a long history of bringing the most passionate gamers together for friendly tournaments and casual play. From the recent ameri-hotness to tried and true 18XX rail road stock simulators, you will find something for every taste. Exhibitors will be offering Learn to Play sessions, but you will also find table space for a small card game or a quick session of Twilight Imperium… Trades will also take place in dedicated spaces.
Origins is not only about game playing
The arts are give attention as well. Game artwork fans will be able to meet their favourite artists, buy iconic works or get custom art right then and there. Besides static art, films are also featured in Origins Film Festival as a new addition this year. The venue will be hosting a festival for gaming related short films and feature length films.
Finally The Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design will be announcing the winners of seven categories, including miniature games and RPG’s.
From the 15’th to the 19’th of June, you owe it to yourself to visit one of the most important events in tabletop gaming. As a veteran this was probably old news, but as an uninitiated, this event might be the one that transforms your gaming hobby.
