I love shopping online. it’s easy, you can purchase almost anything, and they will deliver it to your doorsteps. A few years ago, when online shopping was not this widespread all over the world, many people feared they will lose their money when trying to shop online. Thankfully, the majority of online retailers proved to be serious and reliable. Even so, today there still are online stores that are in fact huge scams. I don’t usually write about my personal experiences, but today I feel I must. I just got scammed and I want to share my experience with others so that they won’t find themselves in the same situation anytime soon.
A couple of weeks back I ordered a smartphone battery for my wife. She doesn’t want to give up on her favorite handset, however, its poor battery life exasperated her. Like any other human being in 2017, I ordered the battery online. Unfortunately, I got scammed. I found the battery I needed on www.myxlshop.co.uk. Judging from their website, they seemed to be quite a serious online shop. I placed my order, paid via PayPal, and patiently waited for my order to be delivered. And waited. And waited some more. After two weeks, I decided it would be a good idea to check on my order’s status. To my surprise, I was told that they don’t have the battery I ordered in stock. This wouldn’t have been a major problem. Until they mentioned that they never had it.
Even though the battery was listed on the website, they never had it. And they let me place my order and pay for the product. Even more, now they refuse to return the money I paid for their unexisting merchandise. This didn’t happen to me before. I have been shopping online for years now, so I couldn’t even imagine that this can actually happen. It’s not even about the money, it’s about the principles. How can you expect people not to be reticent when it comes to shopping online if this still happens in 2017? OK, I understand if you ran out of a product. However, I don’t understand how you can sell something you never had. And refuse to return the customer’s money. This is just unacceptable.
It is rather ironic that the motto displayed on www.myxlshop.co.uk is “Low prices, high service, free shipping”. The prices listed on the website may be low, but the service is definitely not high. Considering the fact tat you order inexistent products and no one returns your money, the prices are quite high too. As for the free delivery… it’s only natural that you don’t have to pay for it as you won’t receive anything for your money. At this moment, I am extremely disappointed by www.myxlshop.co.uk. I hope this was just an isolated case and that this isn’t their usual MO. Even so, I wouldn’t recommend shopping online on this website to anyone. Stay safe and be careful what and where you buy from.
